Im doing the Mogol Rally in the Summer of 2010. (2009 is full) Wondered if anyone else fancied joining me (in another vehicle) on this epic journey.
The basic outline is this:
Team (of 2 people per vehicle) London to Mongolia (10,000miles) Own Route off Road, on road, no road.
this is the key bit. Vehicle has to be made in the last 10 years Vehicle has to have an engine max. 1000cc
Im going to enter, would be nice if could ride with another vehicle.
rough route taking 5 ish weeks London - France - Germany - Czech Rep - Poland - Ukraine - Russia - Kazahkstan - China - Mongolia.
So far my Chariot of choice is Fiat Panda 1000cc Austin Mini 900cc or Bedford Rascal 970cc Micro Van.

thats the main problem. im going to ask my work if they will let me have the time off, if they say no, ill just hand in my notice. then try and get my job back when i come back
worth the risk i think, since my job probably wont last till summer 2010 anyway!
i have seen a few rascals round where I live and it just gota be done in that!

BUY IT BOB!!! 2010 is pretty far into the future and I will be hoping to finish my college course by then. However I think you're bonkers Bob for doing this especially as you're going through some of the most extreme places without any backup. But I guess you'll be able to nail up a car by then if you start now lol.
As for work well you could work like a Ox til then and save up your holidays for the trip but as you said Bob you might get laid off by then at the rate this economy is going.

haha i will have a support vehicle....as long as i can find 2 other people to ride in another car, then we will both support each other! but no, there is no direct support. pretty sure the AA wont come out to me whilst in Kazahkstan.

That sounds better but I doubt ice cream trucks came with an engine under 1000cc. However if you get stranded, you will be more likely helped by the locals if you offered them a 99 flake.
